Headless
Shopify.

Shopify runs the commerce. We build the storefront. Every eCommerce store we ship is headless — not a theme with the colours swapped — and checkout stays on Shopify where it belongs.

What headless actually means

One store,
two halves.

Headless splits the shop from the shopfront. Shopify keeps doing what it is genuinely best at. The part your customers actually look at stops being a template.

Shopify keeps

  • Products, variants, collections and inventory
  • Orders, customers and the admin your team already uses
  • Checkout — hosted, optimised and maintained by Shopify
  • PCI compliance, fraud analysis and payment gateways

We build

  • The storefront, designed to your brand rather than a theme's grid
  • A front end that ships only what your store actually uses
  • Merchandising, filtering and B2B logic a theme cannot express
  • Integrations wired in directly, not bolted on as injected scripts
Why we build this way

Control where it
changes revenue.

No theme ceiling

A theme can only render what it was built to render. When merchandising, filtering or a B2B journey does not fit that shape, you end up fighting the theme. A custom front end has no such shape to fight.

You control the payload

Themes carry the weight of everything they support, plus every app injecting scripts into them. A headless front end loads what your store uses and nothing else — which is where the speed actually comes from.

Checkout stays Shopify's problem

Going headless does not put you back in charge of taking payments. Checkout, PCI compliance and fraud analysis remain Shopify's responsibility, exactly as before.

Your team's workflow is unchanged

Products, pricing, discounts, inventory and orders are still managed in the normal Shopify admin. Nothing about day-to-day merchandising changes.

When not to go headless

Sometimes a theme
is the right answer.

Headless costs more than a theme because a front end is engineered rather than configured. If any of these describe you, we will say so rather than sell you a build you do not need:

  • A well-built theme already does everything you need
  • A small catalogue on a standard retail journey
  • No appetite for ongoing development support after launch
  • Speed to launch matters more than control over the experience

Headless earns its cost when a theme is actively limiting your merchandising, performance or customer experience. Not before.
