What we walked into
Buying a used iPhone is a leap of faith. Tech Society's whole pitch is that it doesn't have to be — every device is multi-point inspected, comes with a 12-month warranty, a guaranteed minimum 85% battery health, free nationwide shipping in South Africa and the option to book an in-person viewing at the Rosebank showroom. The site had to make that pitch in 5 seconds.
We treated trust UX as a first-class component: condition grading visible from the listing card, certification badges on the PDP, warranty terms and battery-health guarantee surfaced inline, and a calendar booking for the Johannesburg store. The result is a storefront that feels less like a marketplace and more like an Apple pre-owned channel — covering the full range from iPhone SE through iPhone 17.
The Challenge
Used iPhones are a trust problem. Tech Society needed to feel like Apple's own pre-owned channel to win buyers away from grey-market sellers and online classifieds.

Midnight gradient, jewel-tone product hero, certification badges as first-class UI, in-store booking flow and calm typographic restraint.
Shopify storefront with custom trust UX (certifications, condition grading, warranty surfacing) and an in-store booking integration for collection and trade-ins.
